Yuck ("we," "our," or "us") is a mobile application that uses artificial intelligence to analyze food products via barcode scanning and image recognition. We provide nutritional analysis, ingredient safety scoring, and personalized dietary insights.

This Privacy Policy describes how Yuck collects, uses, retains, and deletes your personal information (including health-related data) when you use our mobile application ("the App"). By using the App, you agree to this policy.

Plain English Summary We collect almost nothing. Your scan history is local or in a secure database. We don't sell data, and we don't track you across other apps. It's that simple.

What we do NOT collect We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, government ID, precise GPS location, contacts, or any data unrelated to food analysis unless you explicitly provide it.

3. Health Data: Special Disclosure

Important: Health Data Handling The Yuck App accesses and processes health-related information. By using the App, you acknowledge and consent to this processing as described below.

What Health Data We Access

Ingredient and Nutritional Information: Extracted from product barcodes, labels, and food images you scan. This includes calorie counts, macronutrients, additives, allergens, and ingredient lists.
Dietary Restrictions and Allergens: Any ingredients or substances you add to your personal "Void List" (e.g., seed oils, artificial dyes, gluten, dairy).
Food Consumption Patterns: Your scan history creates an indirect record of food products you have examined, which may reflect your dietary habits.
AI-Generated Health Scores: Toxicity scores, nutritional ratings, and ingredient safety flags generated based on the foods you scan.

How This Health Data Is Used

To provide in-app AI nutritional analysis and health scoring
To personalize recommendations based on your Void List settings
To display your historical scan results within the App
To improve the accuracy of our AI models (only in aggregated, anonymized form)

Health Data Is NOT Used For

Medical diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision-making
Sale or licensing to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or health insurers
Building advertising profiles
Any purpose beyond providing the App's core food analysis service

AI Processing of Food Images

When you use the image-scanning feature, photos are transmitted to Google's Gemini AI API for processing. Images are not stored by Google beyond the scope of the individual API request, per Google's API usage policies. We do not permanently store your food photos on our servers.

4. How We Use Your Data

Core App Functionality: Scanning barcodes, analyzing ingredients via AI, generating nutritional scores, and displaying results.
Personalization: Remembering your Void List and dietary preferences across sessions.
Subscription Management: Verifying your premium subscription status to unlock paid features.
App Stability: Diagnosing crashes and technical errors to improve the App.
Product Improvement: Analyzing anonymized, aggregated usage patterns to improve AI accuracy and user experience.

We do not use your data for advertising, targeted marketing, or any purpose not listed above.

After the applicable retention period, data is securely deleted or anonymized so it can no longer be linked back to you.

8. Data Deletion

We keep data collection to an absolute minimum. If you want your data gone, you have two simple ways:

In-App Deletion: Go to Settings > Account > "Delete My Account". This wipes your cloud history within 30 days.
Manual Clear: You can wipe all local scan history and preferences instantly by clearing the App Data / Cache in your phone's system settings.

9. Minimum Age & Children's Privacy

The Yuck App is strictly for users 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you are a parent and believe your child has used the app, contact us at somethingthaticanremember321@gmail.com and we will wipe any associated data immediately.

10. Your Rights

Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to Deletion: Request that we delete your personal data (see Section 8).

Right to Restriction: Request that we limit how we process your data.

11. Security

All data transmitted between the App and our servers uses TLS 1.2+ encryption.
Cloud-stored data is encrypted at rest.
Local data stored via Hive is protected by your device's native security.
We do not store raw food images on our servers.
Access to cloud data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

No method of data transmission or storage is 100% secure. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and display an in-app notification. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
